Accordion artist, composer, and arranger Markku Lepist\u00f6 and pianist \nEva Jacob are long-time klezmer musicians, and they have significantly \ninfluenced the emergence and maintenance of Finnish klezmer music scene \nsince the 1990s, both through playing and through active jamming, \nconcert, and association activities.<\/p>\n

Markku Lepist\u00f6’s career includes participation in many top Finnish \ncontemporary folk music groups, one of the most well-known being the \nDoina Klezmer ensemble, which started in the 90s and was the first \nFinnish ensemble specialized in klezmer music at that time. Currently, \nLepist\u00f6 performs in several duo formations and is a member of, among \nothers, the Sampo Lassila Narinkka ensemble, specialized in Finnish \nklezmer.<\/p>\n

Eva Jacob is a Helsinki-based klezmer musician and klezmer activist, \nwhose efforts have contributed to the growth and diversification of the \ncapital’s klezmer community over decades. In 1998, she founded the \nFreilach mit Kneidlach ensemble, which has released two klezmer albums. \nJacob also founded the Finnish Klezmer Association in 2003 and has \nserved as its chairperson since then. In the same year, Eva was also \ninvolved in founding the Helsinki Klezmer Kapelye ensemble, which has \nperformed in numerous klezmer jam sessions, concerts, and weddings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ta\u0308lla\u0308 hetkella\u0308 Lepisto\u0308 musisoi useissa eri duokokoonpanoissa ja on ja\u0308senena\u0308 mm. Sampo Lassila Narinkka -yhtyeessa\u0308, joka on erikoistunut Suomi-klezmeriin.<\/p>\n

Eva Jacob on helsinkila\u0308inen klezmermuusikko ja klezmeraktiivi, jonka ansiosta pa\u0308a\u0308kaupungin klezmeryhteiso\u0308 on vuosikymmenien aikana kasvanut ja monipuolistunut. Vuonna 1998 ha\u0308n perusti Freilach mit Kneidlach-yhtyeen, joka on julkaissut kaksi klezmerlevya\u0308.
